Dreaming big means you can't go it alone
This season on the show, we’ve far heard from folks who dreamt big.
Folks who saw freelancing as a testing ground for other entrepreneurial ambitions.
Folks who now run community platforms, podcast production networks, professional coaching agencies, and more. (And spoiler alert, this month, we’ll hear from someone who went from freelancing to running a multi-million dollar technical writing agency! If you want to access that episode now, join as a TWC Patreon at any level: www.patreon.com/twcpod.)
There’s one unifying theme: none of these seemingly big, ambitious ventures would be possible if any of them went it alone. They worked with contractors and hired employees where necessary. They had to adopt what TWC co-host and leadership coach Cynthia Pong refers to as a leadership mindset: if we think of ourselves as a leader in our fields, or as the CEO of our business, how would we interface with clients, or set up our businesses to be sustainable in the long term?
Whether you’ve been inspired by this season of TWC to adopt this kind of mindset, or you’ve naturally gotten to this place already, you may be thinking about building out a team to help your business attain its dreams.
But nobody really teaches us how to be a manager, especially not when we’re used to doing everything in our business.
On October 15, join The Writers’ Co-op for an hour long webinar on best practices as a freelance manager when working with a team! You’ll hear from me, Emma Carew Grovum, and Anita Kenney to get perspectives on how to best manage and best be managed.
Snag your ticket today! Registering for the event gets you a copy of the webinar whether or not you can attend live.
